South Tamil Nadu fishermen warned of 65 km/h winds till Aug 31

A specific advisory has been released for fishing communities along the southern Tamil Nadu coast. From now until 31 August, sea conditions are expected to deteriorate as wind speeds may surge to 65 km/h, creating hazardous waves in the Mannar Bay and the adjoining Komorin Sea. Boat owners are instructed to keep their vessels and gear secured and to avoid venturing into the water during the warning period. Small‑craft fishermen are especially at risk, and crews have been advised to suspend operations until the meteorological department lifts the alert after a fresh assessment.
