Sonia Gandhi’s Babri Mosque Remarks Spark Debate; Former Kar Sevaks Respond

Comments by Congress parliamentary party head Sonia Gandhi on the demolished Babri Masjid have triggered a fresh wave of discussion. Former participant Ikbal Ansari dismissed the issue as a matter of the past, reminding that the Supreme Court verdict has been accepted nationwide, including by the Muslim community, and that the episode no longer holds relevance in contemporary politics.

Former kar sevak Santosh Dubey went further, attributing responsibility for the demolition to a wide circle that included Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, the Congress party, and former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao. He claimed both Hindus and Muslims were manipulated, insisting that the site rightfully belongs to all faiths—Ram Lalla, Hanuman‑Giri, and Ayodhya itself. Dubey closed with a forceful remark, urging those still upset over the demolition to accept the outcome and move forward.
