Social Media Claims About Dipke’s Arrest Proven False by Authorities

Misinformation regarding the alleged detention of Abhijeet Dipke surged on Twitter, Instagram and other platforms on Monday, prompting Delhi Police to intervene with a detailed denial. The department stressed that the statements branding Dipke as arrested were unfounded and that the activist remained free and present at the protest site.

Saurav Das, the CJP’s official mouthpiece, retracted his earlier assertion and posted a clarification confirming Dipke's presence outside Kerala House, where a sizable crowd continued to chant slogans.

The police also highlighted a separate false narrative alleging that a 12‑year‑old girl named Geetanjali was assaulted during the rally. The force labelled those claims as inaccurate, requesting the public to avoid disseminating misleading or deceptive content.

The "Parliament Chalo" rally, organized to demand the resignation of the union education minister over the NEET‑UG leak, concluded without any reported arrests, according to the police briefing.
