SIT Probe Sought for Alleged Badrinath Temple Misconduct
The Badriś Joint Struggle Committee has formally petitioned Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to commission a Special Investigation Team for a detailed inquiry into complaints of irregularities during the ascent to Shri Badrinath Dham. This demand coincides with ongoing disputes over alleged procedural lapses at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Hemant Dwivedi, chair of the Badrinath‑Kedarnath Temple Committee, announced that a dedicated inquiry committee has been set up to address the social‑media accusations. Employees named in the allegations have been served notices and are required to respond. The committee also corrected a misleading claim that one staff member is Dwivedi’s private secretary, stating that the individual is a regular government employee with prior experience serving under former committee leaders.
Dwivedi called on worshippers and citizens to refrain from spreading unverified rumors online and stressed the necessity of awaiting the SIT’s conclusive report before making judgments. He highlighted the central role of both Badrinath and Kedarnath temples in the faith of millions across the nation and promised strict action against any staff found guilty.
In parallel, the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust will convene on July 6 to deliberate on the resignations of its secretary‑general Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra, while also reviewing the ongoing SIT investigation into alleged fund irregularities linked to the Ayodhya temple administration.
