Silong Memorial Visit: Himanta Sarma Salutes Assam Regiment’s Sacrifices

Chief Minister Himanta Sarma arrived at the Assam Regiment War Memorial in Silong on Saturday, 29 August, to render tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives for the country. She reflected on the extraordinary courage and unwavering devotion shown by these warriors, asserting that their legacy will motivate generations to serve the nation with the same fervor.

In a social media post, Sarma conveyed her reverence for the ultimate sacrifice, stating that the heroes' bravery will perpetually inspire citizens to commit fully to India’s welfare. "Jai Hind," she added.

The chief minister also inspected the Assam Regimental Centre, conversing with troops about their everyday routines and training regimes. She observed that the regiment’s daily life is defined by strict discipline, self‑less dedication and the readiness to meet any operational challenge.
