Shiv Sena Responds to Kharge, Highlights Marathi Language Rule for Drivers

Mumbai, August 28 – When Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge raised objections to the government's plan for a special parliamentary session to pass a constitutional amendment on the new delimitation system, Shiv Sena's spokesperson Shaina NC delivered a pointed response. She said the party welcomes a thorough discussion on delimitation but cautioned against turning the matter into a political theatre.

"We want the ‘Women Power Vandan’ Bill to be enacted and we are ready to discuss delimitation with all parties," Shaina NC told reporters. "If the opposition has issues, they should raise them in the forum and not use the issue to gain political mileage. The Prime Minister has left the door open for dialogue with everyone."

The spokesperson also addressed Maharashtra's decision to give auto‑rickshaw and taxi drivers a one‑year grace period to learn Marathi. She affirmed that providing extra time is reasonable, but stressed that basic proficiency in Marathi is essential for drivers serving the public.

On the humanitarian front, Shaina NC expressed deep concern over the recent flash floods in Nepal. Shiv Sena volunteers are reportedly assisting with rescue efforts. She mentioned that Maharashtra leader Eknath Shinde held a video call with Indian tourists stranded in Nepal, confirming that more than 114 travelers are currently trapped.

According to the spokesperson, coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian embassy in Nepal is ongoing, and the central government's helpline has been instrumental in delivering travel updates and safety information. She concluded by urging prayers for those affected by the floods and a collective effort to safeguard lives.

Shiv Sena's stance remains firm: keep politics out of national issues, focus on the country's welfare, and ensure that essential services, such as language proficiency for drivers, are implemented responsibly.
