Shi Teams Extend Rakhi to Senior Citizens and Police Veterans Across Gujarat

The Shi Teams, a women‑led unit of Gujarat Police, carried out a state‑wide Raksha Bandhan outreach on August 28. Members visited the residences of elderly residents, senior police officers still in service, and retirees who have served the force for decades.

During each visit, a rakhi was tied and a brief conversation about personal safety took place. The police personnel documented concerns, offered guidance on crime‑prevention and assured continued support.

This community‑focused approach aligns with the department’s mission to safeguard women, the elderly and other vulnerable groups. By involving retired officers, the program also celebrated their contributions while keeping them linked to current safety networks.
