Shekhpurwa Public Forum Highlights Land, Pension and Basic Service Issues

A public forum organized by the Shekhpurwa district administration on 17 July drew forty‑three petitioners, many of whom were elderly or economically disadvantaged. Chaired by District Officer Shekhar Anand, the forum focused on resolving a range of citizen concerns.

Land‑related grievances formed the bulk of the complaints: demands for accurate land measurement, proper documentation of khata‑khesra, resolution of revenue disputes, and actions against illegal encroachments. Pension-related applications—old‑age, disability and widows’ pensions—were also reviewed, with the officer urging relevant departments to expedite pending approvals.

Requests for basic amenities surfaced as well, such as installation of new water pumps, provision of electricity poles for irrigation, construction of school playgrounds, and clearing of blocked public roads. Additional appeals involved obtaining death certificates, accessing education loan schemes, and securing loan forgiveness or maintenance support.

Following the hearing, the district officer ordered immediate investigation into each case, mandating that officials submit progress reports within a set period. He reiterated that the administration’s priority is to deliver timely justice and ensure that citizens receive the benefits of government schemes.
