Shahnawaz Hussain Slams Critics Over PM Modi's Remarks, Economy

New Delhi, October 23: BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain has responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks on attempts to harm India's image, saying some people are unable to accept the rising popularity of the prime minister and the country's progress.

Hussain said India's economy continued to move forward despite conflicts and instability in various parts of the world. He argued that even in this environment, certain elements were trying to damage the nation's image.

On the democratic process, he said the path to changing power in a democracy runs through elections. He pointed out that the BJP had also removed the Congress government from power in the past through the mandate of the people.

Hussain alleged that some people were deliberately trying to create an atmosphere suggesting that they were being treated unjustly. He said the country was steadily progressing towards development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also stated that India's economy was growing at over 7.8 percent.

He further commented on the controversy surrounding an exhibition by Rehan Vadra, son of Priyanka Gandhi. He said everyone had the right to hold an exhibition, but showing only pictures of protests was not justified. He noted that several cases related to protests were pending in court and therefore it was not appropriate to display such images. He said those pictures had been removed for this reason.
