In a series of development events in Gandhinagar district, Amit Shah commissioned a modern gram panchayat building in Kalol and dedicated a new primary school in Motibhoyan village. The Home Minister used the occasion to underline that gram panchayats have evolved into pivotal centers of decision-making and service delivery under the present dispensation. He pointed to the simultaneous launch of multiple pond projects across the constituency, designed to improve irrigation and groundwater recharge for farmers. Addressing a large public meeting in Sonipur, Shah listed achievements in drinking-water supply, rural roads, and education while announcing projects valued at Rs 340 crore. He also revisited the government’s border-management successes, recounting how fencing along the Bangladesh frontier started promptly after the 2019 mandate. He lauded the swift transfer of 721 hectares of land to the Border Security Force by the West Bengal administration, saying the move has produced measurable results. According to Shah, illegal crossings have declined dramatically, and many who once entered surreptitiously are now choosing to return. He framed these security gains alongside the visible transformation of village institutions, arguing that empowered panchayats and secure borders together constitute the twin pillars of inclusive national development.
