Shah Highlights Hindi’s Role in Nation‑Building and Post‑Independence Policies

Amit Shah pointed out that after independence, the idea of "Swabhiman" and "Swadeshi" gave renewed vigor to the language movement. He noted that the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi as the official language of the Union on September 14, 1949. Shah warned that political freedom was achieved while the freedom of language and culture faced neglect. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call from the Red Fort to free the nation from linguistic inferiority complexes, citing recent reforms such as the New Education Policy that places Indian languages at the core of instruction, and the expansion of competitive exams in multiple regional languages.
