Seven‑Year Jail for Ex‑Branch Manager, Two Others Get Three Years

On August 12, 2026, the Special CBI Court in Jaipur sentenced former Bank of Maharashtra branch head Ram Bharose Meena to seven years of rigorous imprisonment for his role in a ₹3.61 crore loan fraud. The court also imposed a ₹2.60 lakh fine on him.

His accomplices, Deep Ram Meena and Veer Singh Meena, each received three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹25,000. Prosecutors argued that the three men misused official authority to approve loans without valid applications, supporting documents or adequate security.

The case was opened after the bank lodged a complaint on November 9, 2016. Following a comprehensive CBI investigation, a chargesheet was filed in March 2019, and the trial proceeded after charges were framed in December 2021.
