Seth Demands CBI Probe into Jharkhand Student Cases, Criticises CID

Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth reiterated his demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the FIRs filed against Jharkhand students. He expressed a clear lack of confidence in the state’s Criminal Investigation Department, accusing it of “shelving the truth” from day one.

Seth argued that the CID’s handling of the matter undermines public trust and that only a federal probe can ensure an impartial outcome. He also called out the state government and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren for a “dual approach” that leaves students in legal limbo.

The minister concluded that the future of thousands of students hangs in the balance and urged the central government to intervene without delay.
