India’s services sector continued to outpace goods in the latest trade data. Export value for services in September was estimated at $36.35 billion, marginally below the $36.67 billion recorded for the same month a year earlier. However, the cumulative April‑September 2026‑27 figure stands at $216.31 billion, up from $199.02 billion in the previous fiscal year.
The higher services earnings translated into a trade surplus of $102.71 billion for the half‑year, compared with a surplus of $98.77 billion in April‑September 2025‑26, underscoring the sector’s growing contribution to the overall balance of payments.
