Senior officials join NTA as India looks to overhaul competitive exams

The appointments, announced on 27 August, are part of a broader strategy to reinforce the agency’s operational integrity after a series of controversies related to paper leaks and result delays. Concurrently, the government has launched a nationwide consultation, inviting stakeholders to submit suggestions for improving the exam ecosystem. Participants can convey their viewpoints in English, Hindi or any regional language via WhatsApp, the NTA website, a toll‑free helpline or email, with the final date for contributions set for 13 September 2026. Officials are expected to take charge within three weeks of the order, signaling a swift implementation of reforms.
