Mirza Altaf Ahmad, a veteran leader from Jammu‑Kashmir, spent the past few days camped in Rajouri to inspect the conditions of families displaced by recent floods. While travelling back to the Poonch district, a sudden landslide rocked the national highway, forcing a convoy vehicle into a narrow ditch. Ahmad reported that the incident left the vehicle damaged but no one injured. He praised rescue teams for quickly clearing the route, allowing him to reach his base safely. The minister reiterated the need for swift restoration of essential services in the hardest‑hit villages, urging the state administration to accelerate relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction work.
