Senior Congress Figures Highlight Panchayati Raj and IT Milestones

Congress senior leaders paid homage to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary, focusing on the landmark policies of his administration. Bhupesh Baghel described Gandhi’s tenure as brief yet revolutionary, citing the introduction of the Panchayati Raj system, the spark of the IT revolution, and the historic move to allow 18‑year‑olds to vote.

Udit Raj remembered the establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and the nationwide push for computerisation, emphasizing Gandhi’s commitment to uplift marginalized sections of society. Pawan Kheda called the day an inspirational one, noting that Gandhi’s premature passing deprived the nation of further progress.
