Security Forces Intensify Patrols After Fatal Clashes in Three Districts

Following the surge in fatalities, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) alongside Manipur police have stepped up foot patrols and search operations in the hill districts of Kamjong, Ukhrul and Kangpokpi. The move aims to deter further armed confrontations between Naga and Kuki groups.

In Kamjong, the district magistrate issued an order under Section 163 of the BNSS, prohibiting large gatherings and the carrying of firearms in designated zones. Similar restrictions are being enforced in Ukhrul and Kangpokpi as authorities seek to contain the unrest.

Officials report that while no new violent incidents were recorded on Sunday, the potential for flare‑ups remains high, prompting continued vigilance by security personnel.
