Security Operations Pressure Maoists in Kolhan Forests, Prompt Surrenders

Intensified joint operations by state police and central forces in the forested districts of Kolhan have increased pressure on the Maoist network. Over the past few months, security agencies have launched multiple raids, tracking hideouts and disrupting supply lines. The sustained campaigns have made it increasingly difficult for insurgents to maintain safe bases and continue their activities. This operational pressure contributed to the voluntary surrender of Saluka Kayam, the zonal commander with a ten‑lakh rupee bounty, and two female cadres in Chaibasa on August 7. Officials noted that the relentless presence of security units in the region is gradually eroding the organisational strength of the rebels.
