Security Boosted as CM Vijay Starts Final Election Rally in Dharapuram

Ahead of the final day of campaigning for the October 6 by‑election, the Tamil Nadu government has reinforced security along the 40‑kilometre route that Chief Minister Vijay will traverse on Sunday. The route, which includes Periyar Statue Junction, Five Roads Junction, Meenakshipuram, Kulathupalayam, Karaiyur, Mulanur and the Vanjiamman Temple precinct, is flanked by barricades to manage crowds. Police officials, including the IG of Coimbatore West Zone and the SP of Tiruppur, inspected the Maruti Nagar helipad where Vijay will land after a helicopter flight from Coimbatore. The rally is intended to boost support for TVK candidate Satabhama in the reserved Tiruppur constituency, where a total of 22 candidates, including independents, are contesting.
