Secular Voices Warn Against Replacing Constitution with Religious Code

Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi of Barelvi, speaking on the same issue, reminded the audience that India can never become a Hindu or an Islamic nation. He highlighted the country’s identity as a democratic republic where multiple faiths coexist under a single constitutional charter. Razvi warned that if Sharia were to be imposed, a parallel demand for a Hindu nation would arise, leading to communal clashes that would harm both national interest and societal harmony.
