Scissors attack in Lucknow leads to death of small truck driver

A seemingly trivial disagreement between two men in Lucknow’s Aliganj sector escalated into a lethal incident on October 4. Rahul Awasthi, who earned a living driving a dala (small cargo vehicle), clashed with his companion Pradeep over an undisclosed issue. Their argument quickly devolved into a physical confrontation under the Puraniya bridge.

In a moment of fury, Pradeep fetched a pair of scissors from a nearby shop and struck Rahul, inflicting life‑threatening wounds. Paramedics rushed the injured party to Wagha Hospital; he was later transferred to the KGMU Trauma Centre when his state worsened. Despite medical efforts, Rahul passed away.

The police, led by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of North Lucknow, arrived at the scene, secured evidence, and placed the accused under arrest. Authorities have notified the victim’s relatives and are preparing to file charges.
