Save Democracy Campaign: BJP Plans Padyatras Across India

New Delhi, October 27: As part of its 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy' drive, the Bharatiya Janata Party will organise padyatras across the country on Wednesday.

Party president Nitin Nabin, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states are expected to join the marches in their own constituencies and regions.

Nitin Nabin is set to participate in the Delhi padyatra, which will be held in Chandni Chowk. Delhi BJP president Rekha Gupta, who is the chief minister, along with MPs and other senior party leaders, is also likely to take part in the event in the national capital.

The nationwide outreach is part of a broader campaign designed to answer allegations made by the opposition and to explain the party's stand on democracy and electoral processes.

In Delhi, the march will start at 2 pm from the Red Fort and move towards the Town Hall in Chandni Chowk. More than 15,000 people are expected to be part of it.

The party's goal with these programmes is to bring together workers and supporters across various states. Senior leaders' participation is expected to add momentum to the campaign and help the party convey its message to the public.

Speaking about the initiative, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the BJP would go to the people across the state under the campaign and reveal the Congress's lies and fake narratives with facts. Through padyatras and public interaction programmes, he added, awareness will be spread about democratic values, the dignity of constitutional institutions and good governance in the state, and public trust in these will be strengthened.

The BJP campaign is being launched at a time when the INDIA bloc has called for a rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, demanding the SIR and the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. A mega rally is expected there on November 1.
