'Satluj' Release Hurdles Explained by Actor Kanwaljit Singh

Kanwaljit Singh clarified the multiple obstacles that have delayed *Satluj*’s release. He noted that beyond the public debate, practical issues such as funding shortfalls, technical glitches and distribution bottlenecks often dictate a film’s timeline. The actor recounted how the project endured a two‑and‑a‑half‑year battle across various forums, including an episode where large cuts were ordered and the film was withdrawn from a Canadian festival. Singh argued that as society evolves, dialogue—rather than confrontation—should resolve such conflicts. He urged future filmmakers to secure clearances and address objections before shooting commences, stressing that imposing restrictions after a film is complete is unjust to the whole crew.
