Saraitola Village Dancers Showcase 'Gutta Mandra' at President’s Reception

The Saraitola Folk Dance Mandali, representing the tribal communities of Chhattisgarh, performed a lively showcase of "Gutta Mandra" at the President’s reception on August 19. Their act combined pulsating drum patterns, folk chants, and traditional costumes that reflected centuries‑old customs.

Surendra Sori, another member of the troupe, highlighted that the performance underscored the government’s commitment to recognising talent from remote villages. He said the platform allowed educated but unemployed youth to display their skills and keep tribal heritage alive.
