SAR Notice Timeline Explained: Deadlines Up to November 4 for Voter List Finalisation

On Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Pravesh Verma provided a step‑by‑step overview of the Special Intensive Revision (SAR) schedule for Delhi’s electoral roll. He clarified that any voter whose name is missing or whose documentation is incomplete receives a notice from the Election Commission’s Returning Officer.

The notice period ends on 30 September, giving affected voters a window to submit corrected documents. Once the responses are received, a scrutiny phase begins and runs until 29 October, during which the Election Commission verifies the submitted information.

The process concludes with the publication of the final voter list on 4 November. Verma emphasized that even after the final list is released, individuals can still file objections, which will be examined through a prescribed mechanism.

He reiterated that the SAR exercise is a standard, transparent procedure and that the Election Commission applies the same rules to all, irrespective of political background.
