The spirit of Sankranti is igniting travel plans across Telangana, and TGSRTC is ready with an impressive lineup of 6,431 special bus services. This strategic rollout targets the festival’s high-demand period, ensuring no one misses out on the joyous homecoming.
From January 11 to 16, these extra buses will ply on major corridors, linking Hyderabad with every corner of the state. High-frequency services to Suryapet, Vijayawada, Kakinada, and Bengaluru cater to both intra-state and inter-state travelers. The fleet includes luxury Volvo and super-luxury buses for those seeking premium comfort.
Festival travel often strains public transport, but TGSRTC’s proactive measures promise relief. The corporation has deployed additional staff at key terminals like MGBS and JBS for smooth operations. Online ticketing has been simplified, with options for e-payments and seat selection.
In a press conference, Transport Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy praised the efforts: ‘TGSRTC’s festival special services reflect our government’s focus on affordable and reliable mobility. Safety protocols, including mandatory health checks for crew, are in place.’
Drawing from past experiences, TGSRTC has optimized routes based on passenger data. Popular destinations like Medak, Siddipet, and Nizamabad will have dedicated shuttle services. The initiative also supports rural economies by facilitating the transport of farm produce and festival shoppers.
With fuel prices stable and vehicle maintenance up to date, disruptions are minimal. Passengers can expect amenities like water bottles, travel kits, and charging points on board. For families traveling with children or elderly members, priority seating is available upon request.
As kites soar high and sweets are shared, TGSRTC ensures that distance doesn’t dampen the Sankranti fervor. Book now and join the festive journey!
