Sanjay Seth Stresses Safety as Key to Attract Investment in Jharkhand

Union Minister Sanjay Seth addressed the recent police encounter that killed a suspect in the Baruiypur rape‑murder case, underscoring that law‑abiding citizens need a criminal‑free environment. He asserted that a palpable fear of the law among delinquents is essential for societal peace.

Citing the decisive crackdowns in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Seth argued that stringent enforcement makes would‑be offenders reconsider their actions. He called for equally harsh measures in West Bengal and other states to protect the public and curb gender‑based crimes.

Regarding Jharkhand, the minister said the state requires a government that does not tolerate criminality. He described citizen security as the primary responsibility of any ruling party.

During the two‑day Investors Summit, Seth highlighted that investor confidence hinges on a stable law‑and‑order climate. While welcoming the opportunity for industrial growth and job creation, he cautioned that safety must improve in tandem with economic initiatives.

The minister revived his demand for a police commissioner system in Ranchi, noting that the BJP has championed the model for years without successful rollout. He believes a modern policing framework is vital for a fast‑growing metropolis.

On the X platform, Seth announced the laying of the foundation stone for an "Ayushman Arogya Mandir" in Ranchi’s Ward‑2, a health centre costing roughly ₹34 lakhs, with Mayor Roshni Khalkho and other officials in attendance.

He also reported the construction of a new traffic police post near the OTC ground on Ratu Road, financed through an MP’s constituency development fund. The post, inaugurated by MLA Naveen Jaiswal and Mayor Khalkho, will shelter traffic personnel from extreme weather, reflecting Seth’s commitment to enhancing police working conditions.
