Special Investigation Team Backed by Saints to Clear Santu Ray Allegations

Ayodhya – On Saturday, a coalition of saints stepped forward to defend Santu Ray, the chief secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, urging the governing body to reject his resignation. The clergy affirmed their confidence in Ray’s honesty, labeling the accusations as groundless and aimed at undermining his image.

Having been a pivotal figure in the temple’s construction movement for decades, Ray’s public life is characterized by openness and dedication. The saints revealed that Ray himself had asked for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the allegations, demonstrating that he has nothing to conceal.

The formation of the SIT by the government was welcomed as a necessary step that will bring all facts to the surface. The saints also noted that throughout the controversy Ray has remained composed and refrained from making public statements that could inflame the situation.

In the press conference, the saints directed several queries toward the trust’s treasurer, Govind Dev Giri, concerning the protection of donated funds and the reasons behind convening a meeting ahead of schedule without adequate safeguards. They called for detailed explanations on fund management and the purpose of the early assembly.

Reiterating that the Ram temple is a spiritual nucleus for millions, the saints argued that any disputes must be resolved with complete transparency. They concluded by demanding that the trust not accept Ray’s resignation until the SIT completes its inquiry.
