Saidthpur Inspector Says Suspect Injured in Leg During Capture

Saidthpur district’s supervising officer, Shubham Verma, confirmed that the arrested individual, Sanjay Bind, sustained a leg injury when police fired back during a confrontation on August 12. The operation took place on the Old Pitch Road near a private ITI in Ahirauli.

According to the inspector, the suspect drove a motorcycle toward Ghazipur with the intention of evading arrest after being alerted to a Rs 50,000 bounty on his head. He attempted to use his firearm, discharging five to six rounds at the police. In response, law enforcement officers shot the assailant’s leg, bringing his advance to a halt.

Bind, a 38‑year‑old resident of Akatihiya village, is already named in 14 separate legal proceedings, including offenses under the Arms Act, the NDPS Act, and theft charges. The police recovered a .315 bore barrel, a cartridge, two motorcycles and a small cash sum during the arrest.
