Chaos gripped Ghaziabad’s Site-4 industrial zone in Sahibabad as a ferocious fire tore through two neighboring factories on Monday afternoon. The alarm sounded at 12 PM for Chran Autotech and Bharat Oil units, triggering a massive firefighting operation.
Initial teams from Sahibabad fire station sent two tenders, reinforced by three from Vaishali under the Chief Fire Officer and Deputy. The scene was dire: flames leaping high, engulfing structures and spewing toxic smoke that blanketed the sky.
Recognizing the scale, more help poured in—three from Kotwali, one from Modinagar, two from Loni, one from Hapur, and a tanker from Gautam Buddh Nagar. This 10-vehicle armada worked in unison, laying hose lines in three directions to battle the blaze.
At Chran Autotech, producers of bike components, the roof caved in, trapping auto parts beneath. Abundant plastics and packaging materials accelerated the spread. Firefighters nipped the threat to Bharat Oil in the bud before it could escalate.
Several hours of intense effort brought the fire under control without any casualties—a huge relief. Economic losses mount for the owners, but neighboring properties escaped unscathed thanks to proactive measures.
As probes continue, this incident underscores vulnerabilities in industrial safety and the lifesaving efficiency of Ghaziabad’s fire brigade.
