Safety Measures Ordered After Fatal Building Collapse in Delhi

A tragic building collapse at Satyaniketan in Delhi left seven dead and several injured, prompting swift action from the state government. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta toured the AIIMS Trauma Centre, met with patients and their relatives, and stressed that safety will be the top priority.

The victims comprised two laborers and five students who lost their lives. Among the survivors, one laborer is in stable condition after undergoing surgery for a broken leg, two students are expected to leave the hospital soon, and a third student remains in intensive care due to grave injuries.

The administration announced an urgent financial relief scheme for the families of the deceased and assured full coverage of medical costs for the injured. A hazardous building adjacent to the site has been officially tagged as unsafe and will be torn down by Wednesday to prevent recurrence.

Authorities have launched an inquiry to determine the cause of the collapse and will hold responsible parties accountable. Meanwhile, a dedicated crisis cell will maintain constant communication with all affected households, offering assistance as required.
