Sadbhavana Day Tribute: Rajiv Gandhi’s Legacy Tied to Youth and Innovation

Celebrating Sadbhavana Diwas on August 20, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge posted a heartfelt remembrance of Rajiv Gandhi, describing him as a visionary who ignited hope and prepared the nation for future challenges. Kharge argued that honoring Gandhi means amplifying India’s timeless values of empathy, harmony and cooperation while fostering intellectual liberty, cutting‑edge innovation and the ambitions of young Indians.

The message resonated across the party. Ashok Gahlot hailed Gandhi as the architect of India’s information revolution, while Sachin Pilot recalled the prime minister’s confidence in modern tech and youth participation as essential for progress. Himachal Pradesh’s chief minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu spoke of Gandhi’s deep connection with the Himalayan region and his belief in democratic principles. Kumari Selja and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath also lauded Gandhi’s role in advancing digital infrastructure, Panchayati‑Raj, and educational opportunities for rural talent, stressing that his dedication to a forward‑looking India remains a guiding light.
