RTO urges citizens to use WhatsApp for vehicle services during Kashmir heat

With the heatwave intensifying in Srinagar, the Regional Transport Office of Kashmir has appealed to the public to rely on its official WhatsApp number (9622002432) for all transport‑related needs.

The directive states that physical visits should be limited to truly essential matters, while complaints, applications and document submissions can be sent digitally.

An internal promise ensures that each case will be addressed within two days, and any requirement for extra documentation will be communicated through the same chat.

By promoting online processing for learner licences, driving licences, vehicle registration (RC) and other services, the RTO seeks to cut down on travel, reduce waiting times, and protect health amid the severe summer conditions.
