Rs 30,000 Bribe Scandal Leads to Arrest of Giridih Sub‑Inspector

In a decisive anti‑corruption operation, the Giridih cyber police sub‑inspector Punit Kumar Gautam was arrested for taking a Rs 30,000 bribe. The arrest took place after the Anti‑Corruption Bureau acted on a complaint lodged by Jivalal Mandal, who alleged that Gautam demanded payment to forward case diary 24/26 to the court.

Following a thorough verification of the accusation, the bureau organized a sting operation. When the complainant handed over the money, the ACB team intervened, confiscated the cash, and detained the officer.

Gautam is now in police custody, facing interrogation and forthcoming legal procedures.
