Rs 20 Crore Allocated for Pre‑Construction Work on Visavadar Bypass

Junagadh district will receive a cash injection of Rs 20 crore to begin the preparatory work for a Visavadar bypass road, announced by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The budget will fund land purchase, the shifting of power and water lines, and the creation of a detailed project report (DPR).

The bypass is designed to connect the Bagasra‑Jetpur state highway with the Visavadar‑Satadhar‑Sasan Gir state highway, offering a detour for traffic that otherwise cuts through the town center.

Officials highlighted that the project responds to persistent local demands for a solution to chronic traffic congestion, especially during peak pilgrimage seasons when visitors flock to sites such as Satadhar, Sasan Gir forest, and historic temples surrounding Visavadar.
