RP Singh highlights foreign funding controversy around Rajiv Gandhi Foundation

New Delhi, November 7 – BJP spokesperson RP Singh used a media briefing to condemn Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress stalwart Rahul Gandhi, saying both are locked into a family‑first mindset. Referring to Nitin Navin, Singh said the two “young princes” think only of their own clans.

Singh pointed out that Akhilesh Yadav now claims parity with the Hindu deity Krishna, portraying himself as a modern‑day sanatan figure who even stopped wearing a hat, yet his family background remains evident. He further accused Rahul Gandhi of shirking parliamentary discourse, opting to manufacture street‑level agitation labeled as a “debate.”

A major part of Singh’s address centered on the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation’s receipt of foreign money. He claimed that the foundation has been financed by overseas donors, including entities that have faced repeated questioning and, reportedly, the Chinese embassy itself.

On the upcoming Punjab legislative elections, Singh announced the BJP’s readiness to contest all 117 seats, with party workers deployed to the booth level. He noted that alliance considerations will be discussed later by senior leaders.

When pressed about Sonia Gandhi’s statements, Singh branded them as half‑truths, alleging unconstitutional measures that led to the jailing of 150,000 people, forced sterilisation allegations, and attacks on press freedom.

Singh also reacted to a Rahul Gandhi tweet that alleged petrol theft, urging an official complaint and legal action rather than baseless allegations, and reminded that Karnataka’s government holds the authority to pursue any irregularities in fuel distribution.

In his closing remarks, Singh called for Akhilesh Yadav to undertake penance at the Ram Temple for past incidents involving gunfire on Ram‑devotees, emphasizing that the time for such acknowledgment has arrived.
