In a bold parliamentary broadside, BJP MP Yogendra Chandoliya has accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of facilitating a dangerous wave of Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltration across the state’s vulnerable borders. Labeling it a ticking time bomb for India’s internal stability, he called for urgent action to seal the loopholes.
Most Indian frontiers—from Assam to elsewhere—stand fortified, Chandoliya noted in his interview. Yet, West Bengal’s extensive 600-km stretch with Bangladesh remains alarmingly open, allegedly due to the TMC government’s lax policies. This, he charged, enables a steady stream of undocumented migrants, exacerbating demographic distortions in border regions.
‘Deport them all to safeguard our nation’s composition,’ the MP urged, stressing that such measures are essential for long-term security. His remarks come amid rising concerns over illegal migration’s impact on local resources, jobs, and communal harmony.
The MP also lambasted Rahul Gandhi for his recent faux pas at the President’s At-Home reception. By not wearing Assam’s iconic gamucha—unlike all other attendees—Gandhi allegedly snubbed Northeast culture and the head of state. BJP leaders are amplifying this as a calculated affront, with Chandoliya warning, ‘This political misstep will haunt him; disrespecting the President and regional pride is unforgivable.’
On a positive note, Chandoliya hailed the prior budget’s pro-people reforms, like the Rs 12 lakh tax slab hike benefiting millions. With expectations high for the next financial blueprint, he voiced confidence that PM Modi’s government will balance development with citizen welfare, propelling India towards a prosperous future.
