Robotic Excavators to Remove Silt from 5.7 km Canal in Chennai

The excavation will be carried out with a fleet of robotic excavators. The first phase starts near Valluvarkottam, where the canal narrows to just three metres and stretches for about 300 metres. Additional cleaning and widening will follow on Bazzullah Road and Venkatanarayana Road. Chennai Metro Rail will also support the effort by clearing its section of the canal adjacent to the Panagal Park‑Nandanam underground corridor.
