RJD Leader Calls for Unity Against UPI Tax and UCC Push

Patna, September 16 – RJD’s Bhai Veerendra warned that the NDA’s proposed UPI tax is part of a broader strategy to burden the public while the nation wrestles with high inflation, joblessness, and rising crime rates. He described the move as an attempt to “empty the people’s pockets.”

The MLA appealed directly to senior citizens and the younger generation, urging them to set aside party affiliations and rally on the streets. He emphasized that the country’s destiny lies in the hands of its people and that only a united mass movement can bring about meaningful change.

Linking the UPI issue to the contentious Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Veerendra accused the central government of using the UCC debate as a distraction from its failure to control the economy. He reiterated that India is a secular nation where every community has the constitutional right to practice its own religion.

He also questioned the effectiveness of disaster‑relief efforts following recent floods, demanding transparent disclosure of the funds being allocated and a minimum assistance of ₹25,000 per affected family.

Veerendra concluded by urging former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who has a socialist background, to join a broad coalition against the UPI fee and the UCC, promising to form a government that will block the implementation of the UCC across the country.
