RJD Finalizes Tickets for Graduate and Teacher Seats in 2026 Council Poll

The Rashtriya Janata Dal has completed its candidate rollout for the graduate and teacher constituencies of the Bihar Legislative Council elections due in 2026. Six names have been confirmed, covering Patna, Koshi, Darbhanga, Saran and Tirhut regions.

Dr. Sanjay Singh will contest the Patna Teacher seat, while Dilip Kumar is set for the Patna Graduate seat. The party's other nominees are Nitish Kumar (Koshi Graduate), Anil Kumar Jha (Darbhanga Graduate), Professor Jayaram Yadav (Saran Teacher) and Dr. Rashmi Vinayak Gautam (Tirhut Graduate).

Two council seats remain undecided, and internal discussions are ongoing. Analysts predict a triangular or even quadrangular contest, as the NDA coalition, the Mahagathbandhan led by RJD, and Jan Suraj Party all prepare to field candidates across the eight seats.
