In a bold fusion of technology and jurisprudence, APM Terminals Pipavav has rolled out India’s first AI-enhanced VR courtroom simulator, formally launched by CJI Justice Suryakant at Gujarat National Law University’s 16th annual convocation. This CSR-driven project, crafted by Maersk Training for Gujarat Maritime University, redefines legal pedagogy by immersing students in lifelike judicial simulations.
Participants step into a digital courtroom to hone skills in argumentation, evidence handling, judicial interaction, and strategic planning. The shift from rote learning to experiential training promises to produce more adept professionals ready for real-world litigations.
Tailored for intricate fields such as maritime law, arbitration, and ADR, the simulator delivers authentic experiences that build resilience and expertise. It’s a game-changer for law students seeking practical exposure.
Joining CJI Suryakant were Supreme Court Justices Arvind Kumar and Nilay Vipinchandra Anjaria, alongside Gujarat High Court Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal. The CJI commended the port operator’s visionary step, foreseeing its profound impact on lawyer training.
Managing Director Girish Agarwal underscored the maritime industry’s digital evolution in India, with APM committing resources to educational advancements alongside port development. CSR lead Colonel Ankur Vashisht affirmed skill-building as a CSR cornerstone, future-proofing the workforce.
Prof. S. Shanthakumar of GNLU hailed the tech infusion as vital for preparing students for international legal standards in shipping and conflict resolution. This partnership exemplifies industry-academia synergy, elevating Gujarat’s educational infrastructure.
