Retired Justice Mallikarjun Rao Begins Five-Year Term as Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta

Justice (Retd.) Mallikarjun Rao, a former judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, officially started his five‑year term as Lokayukta on August 25. The oath‑taking ceremony, conducted by Governor S. Abdul Nazeer at Lok Bhavan, was attended by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Small‑Scale Industries Minister Kondapalli Srinivas, and other officials. The appointment was made under Section 3(1) of the Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta Act, 1983, as amended in 2024, after the selection committee’s recommendation was approved. A government order issued by Principal Secretary G. Sai Prasad formalised the tenure.
