Retired Judge Ranjana Desai Heads Committee to Study UCC

Maharashtra has appointed a seven‑member high‑level committee chaired by retired Justice Ranjana Desai to draft a Uniform Civil Code for the state. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the formation of the panel in the assembly, highlighting its mandate to review legal, social and administrative consequences of a unified civil law.
