Resignation Accepted, Interim Secretary Appointed as SIT Report Awaited in Ayodhya Temple Dispute
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust formally accepted the resignation of its former general secretary, Champt Rai, during a meeting held on Monday. In a subsequent communication posted on X, Rai broke his silence after months of speculation surrounding the alleged theft of donation jars reported on 7 June 2026. He assured the public that he will issue a comprehensive response to every allegation once the Special Investigation Team (SIT) releases its final findings. The July general meeting had already presented a preliminary SIT report classified as "top secret," which has now been made publicly accessible. Rai’s letter emphasized his 45‑year-long service since being posted to Ayodhya in October 1991, describing his life as an open book. The trust has named Krishna Mohan as interim general secretary until a new appointment is finalized.
