Ahead of the 76th Republic Day celebrations in 2026, Jharkhand’s bravest cops are in the spotlight. The Ministry of Home Affairs announced on Sunday that 12 police personnel from the state will receive the prestigious President’s Police Medal and Police Medals for their outstanding contributions to national security and law enforcement.
Leading the pack is DSP Sudhir Kumar, awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. His career is a shining example of honesty and tactical brilliance, having led teams through high-stakes operations with remarkable success. Departmental commendations have repeatedly acknowledged his leadership in fostering discipline and efficiency.
The list of Police Medal recipients for Meritorious Service includes heavyweights like IG Anoop Birthare and IG Patel Mayur Kanaiyalal. These top officers have revolutionized police administration, tackling complex issues with sensitivity and skill, thereby strengthening public trust in the force.
Joining them is DSP Sanjay Kumar, celebrated for consistent excellence. The grassroots heroes—Head Constables Krishna Kumar Kshetry, Arun Kumar Ojha, Marcus Sunwar, Jaydev Pradhan, Janet Margaret Lakra, Kumudini Kujur, Sufal Oria, and Mohammad Wasim Akhtar—have shown extraordinary valor in daily battles against crime, ensuring community safety at the forefront.
This collective honor reflects the unyielding commitment of Jharkhand Police to justice and order. Officials hail it as a proud milestone, motivating the ranks to uphold the highest standards. On Republic Day, these medals will symbolize the backbone of India’s internal security apparatus.
