Renuka Choudhary rebuts allegations against Sonia Gandhi over Vande Mataram

During a press briefing, Renuka Choudhary fired back at rumors suggesting Sonia Gandhi insulted Vande Mataram. The Congress MP said the accusations are fabricated, noting that no clear audio or transcript confirms any offensive remark.

She emphasized that the political class often jumps to conclusions based on visual cues alone, and warned that such narratives fuel division. Choudhary also referenced the recent comment by Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy, stating that questioning a leader’s lineage or blood is a banal ploy used to label certain communities as outsiders.

The MP concluded that the country should focus on genuine concerns rather than indulging in sensationalist attacks on national symbols.
