Religious Leaders Urge Patience as SIT Probe Continues in Champat Rai Case
On Sunday, Ayodhya’s saintly community gathered to discuss the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged temple‑fund misappropriation involving Champat Rai, the trust’s general secretary. The forum praised Rai’s five‑decade record of devotion and urged the public to wait for the Special Investigation Team’s conclusions before forming judgments.
Chandanshu Maharaj addressed the media, stating the meeting aimed to protect both Lord Ram’s revered image and the city’s dignity. He warned that premature condemnation harms innocent parties and that any decisive penalty should only follow proven guilt.
Saket Bhavan’s Mahant Sitaram Das, another speaker, reminded attendees that Rai himself had called for the SIT inquiry, implying confidence in his own innocence. He appealed for restraint, noting that until the investigation establishes factual guilt, no one’s reputation should be damaged.
The gathering called for collective patience, discouraging sensationalist commentary, and reaffirmed the saint community’s unwavering support for Champat Rai while awaiting the official investigation report.
