Religious Figures Threaten Protests Until Parliamentarians Face Arrest
A coalition of senior monks and holy men has warned of intensified street actions if three MPs are not arrested following their controversial appearance in the Lok Sabha wearing saffron garments. The group, led by Jagadguru Swami Balkadeva of the Patalpuri Math, declared that the FIR filed against Pappu Yadav, Rahul Gandhi and Avadhesh Prasad is non‑negotiable.
“The saint community is outraged. We will not rest until these individuals are prosecuted,” Balkadeva told the media. “Any delay will be seen as a failure to protect our religious values.”
The National Saints Committee has also drafted a comprehensive strategy for demonstrations, with plans to submit memorandums to the President, the Prime Minister, state governors and chief ministers. They argue that the act of wearing saffron inside Parliament was intended to mock Sanatan Dharma and to belittle the nation’s spiritual custodians.
The committee’s call for action coincides with the formation of a Special Investigation Team, which is expected to release its findings soon. The religious leaders insist that until a verdict is rendered, they will continue to rally public support and organize protests.
