Rekha Gupta Launches Delhi Lakshmi Scheme, Over 1,000 Women Register
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta officially launched the Delhi Lakshmi Scheme on Saturday, marking a significant move to support women’s economic welfare. The scheme offers a monthly cash grant of ₹2,500 to eligible women, aiming to strengthen financial independence.
Within hours of the portal’s activation, more than 1,000 women completed their registrations, according to District Magistrate Karanjit P. Wadodaria. Registration booths have been set up in each of Delhi’s 13 district offices, and online registration is also available.
BJP MP Kamaljit Sahrawat told reporters that the scheme builds on previous initiatives such as the "Pink Pass" for schoolgirls, and aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on women’s self‑reliance.
State Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa urged all qualified beneficiaries to submit their applications promptly and highlighted that BJP legislators have placed additional staff in constituency offices to guide women through the process.
